What's new in OmniTRANS 8.0

We proudly present you - OmniTRANS version 8.0.

This version is another major step forward in the development of OmniTRANS, with new groundbreaking features and improved usability. Many improvements have been suggested by our users and designed in consultation with them. Your feedback has been and remains very welcome! That is why we would like to hear what innovations appeal to you.

What's new

  • Underlying database has been completely replaced and the software architecture has moved from 32-bit to 64-bit
  • Larger models are available, the database is faster and more flexible. Multiple variants are now easy to open next to each other and to edit.
  • A module for data management. To share projects with others is easy. import and export features are available.
  • New Ruby version 2.3. Model scripts can use the latest possibilities offered by this versatile programming language. Also wxRuby, an extension to build its own graphical interfaces, is available in this new version.

Getting Started

Following are the OmniTRANS's multi-lessons video tutorials that guide you through the interface and demonstrate many common modelling tasks.

Welcome to OmniTRANS — the transport planning application designed for integrated modelling of multi-modal transport systems.
The video tutorials will help you become familiar with the software and understand the core philosophy and concepts of the application. The real strength of OmniTRANS is its ability to integrate all aspects of transport modelling and analysis into one project which can be gradually evolved in its modelling details and its number of scenarios while keeping pace with the latest transport modelling techniques. With the OmniTRANS's multi-lessons video tutorials you will be guided through the interface and the videos demonstrate many common modelling tasks. After visualising them, you will be in a better position to explore the software, to make use of projects that have been built for you, or to build transport models of your own. The video tutorials use for a great part the Dutch city of Delft as a context to show you how to start working in OmniTRANS. This demonstration project accompanies the software and it can be used to repeat most of the steps demonstrated in the videos.
